About the Artist: Cathy Tate
Cathy Tate earned her BFA from Converse College in 1994, followed by her Masters in Elementary Education. She has been an art teacher in public and private settings and enjoys seeing art through her students’ eyes.
Cathy has always been fascinated with light and color and is especially drawn to the beauty found in nature. Her process is very intuitive and she lets the work lead her. Sometimes she is inspired by a photograph, but most often her landscape imagery comes from her imagination and a color palette that she wants to experiment with on the canvas.
She has had work featured in Artisphere’s Artists of the Upstate exhibit, the Art Walk at Camperdown Plaza, Talk Magazine, The Greenville Scout Guide, Greenville Journal, and at Rick Erwin’s West End.
You can find her work at the Artists Guild Gallery of Greenville located at 200 N Main Street.
